MY NESSAKI
( KAWASAKI VULCAN 1500 WITH ARLEN NESS PARTS )

This bike actualy started life as a stock Kawasaki Vulcan 1500A (modeled after a Harly dina-glide) with a sport shield, floor boards, and ponie express bags. Being an old "60's chopper rider, I thaught I'd dump the shield first and feel the wind. Of course I forgot that a 10" over springer on the front, broke the wind for ya. So... after one trip, acting like a sail, I put it back on.

First I changed to a larger standard wind shield.

Then I needed larger bags and found some for a Harly FXD that fit. I had to make extenisons for the rear turn signels. I like a more classic look and wanted to change the fenders. For my birthday this year my kids took up a collection  for me and came up with $140.00 for my project. I found some Arlen Ness fenders that fit with a little modification. They were seconds, but I make my living making things work, so it wasn't a problem.

The front only needed to be shortened for clearance, but the rear had to be spliced to the existing fender as kawasaki has a massave dent for the seat and I didn't want to compromise the frame to get it on. So... a little cutting here & a little shaping there and I got it on.

Along with the new rear fender I changed the rear light to a Harly Tumb Stone. The old tumb stone isn't too bright so I changed the  rear turn signels to some smaller square ones that are on when the bike is running and still blink when I turn them on. I was given an Arlen Ness licence plate ring that looks great. A little red paint for the fenders and I was ready to run. Next year I paint it Candy Tangerine & Blue.
